Gedling Sunset

Gedling Country Park used to be the site of Gelding Colliery. Like many of Nottinghamshire's old pits it is now home to a nature reserve as well as a large solar farm. I'd be walking up the hill where I took this photo for years before I realised that it was the old slag heap. I've been told that all of the dead pit ponies were buried there. During its working life Gedling was one of the most productive but also dangerous mining sites in Nottinghamshire. One hundred and thirty five miners lost their lives there during its working life.

Printed using archival-quality inks on Fuji Lustre photographic paper with a soft semi-matt finish and subtle texture. This gives a natural, low-glare result with excellent detail and depth.

Available in A3, A4 and A1 sizes.

A4 prints will be shipped in a stiffened card backed envelope. A3 and A1 prints will shipped in a cardboard postal tube.

UK shipping is included in the price.

As a small business, I keep prices as low as possible. Shipping is included in the price of the prints, and I don’t make any profit from postage.
