I’m a Nottingham-based photographer. My work explores the beauty found in both the built and natural world — from the textured streets and hidden corners of Nottingham to the quiet paths of ancient woodlands and the wide, open landscapes of the Peak District.

I'm especially drawn to creative techniques such as in-camera multiple exposures and Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) which allow me to represent the landscape in a more abstract and expressionistic way.

While much of my work is rooted in Nottinghamshire and the East Midlands, I’m always keen to take the opportunity to travel. This year I have been lucky enough to spend time in North Wales and on the island of Uist in the Outer Hebrides.

Alongside the bigger picture, I’m often drawn to the fleeting details within the landscape — those moments when light reveals details and subtleties so easily missed.

Recent projects include an exhibition at Nottingham Central Library (February 2025), featuring work from my ongoing exploration of Bestwood Country Park. In April 2025, I published Shifting Light, Shifting Seasons: Bestwood Through a Local Lens, a book that expands on that exhibition and reflects on the subtle transformations of local places through the year.

I’m currently preparing a new photography book with Amberley Publishing, a UK publisher specialising in local history. The book explores the legacy of the mining industry in Nottinghamshire, focusing on what has become of the former colliery and pit sites since the end of coal mining in the region. Through contemporary photography, I’m examining how these places — once centres of community and labour — have evolved, been reclaimed by nature, or transformed into new spaces for people and wildlife.
