Looking For Those Moments

I am a photographer based in Nottingham. I mostly enjoying wandering local woodland and The Peak District, camera in hand looking for moments of inspiration. As well as capturing the bigger scenes I find that I'm drawn to the smaller fleeting details in our landscape - those moments when light reveals details and moments so easily missed.

Fitting my photography in around a busy family life has meant I can't always travel to far flung locations. As a result I've made the best of the time I have available to me and have enjoyed exploring my local area in more detail. Visiting the same locations through the different seasons has led to a deeper connection to the landscape around me.

Despite primarily photographing woodland I like to explore other fields of photography. Recently I've been having great fun with abstracts and double exposure with old 1960s lenses mounted on my modern camera.

In February 2025 a selection of my images exploring Bestwood Country Park was exhibited at the Nottingham Central Library.

In April 2025 I published a book to accompany and expand on the exhibition 'Shifting Light, Shifting Seasons: Bestwood Through a Local Lens'.
